Karazin University has held the opening of the Forum Community and Us: Working Together for non-governmental organizations and volunteer initiatives operating in the east of Ukraine.
The Presidium comprised UNHCR Deputy Regional RepresentativeVanno Noupech, the Deputy Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Mykhailo Cherniak, the Deputy Mayor for Health and Social Protection of People, Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban, Karazin University President Vil Bakirov, the Director of Kharkiv Regional Institute of State Administration of the National Academy of State Administration under the office of the President of Ukraine, the Head of Kharkiv University Consortium, Liudmyla Bielova.
V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has held a grand opening of the new exhibition hall in the Museum of Archeology, a unique ground for historical science in Ukraine.
“For 211 years in a row, the University has been preserving and enriching the classical education traditions, since a real classical university is not only studies and scientific research, it is also a high culture, treasures of spiritual life, and Karazin University has always been distinguished by this. And today we are opening a new renovated Museum of Archeology that has been collecting ancient historical objects since 1807,” University President Vil Bakirov greeted the guests of the occasion.
Karazin University has held festivities to honor the prominent artist and Karazin University alumnus Henryk Siemiradzki.
The participants of the events were the Consul General of Poland in Kharkiv, Stanisław Łukasik, the Advisor to the Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration for Legal Affairs, Serhii Storozhenko, the Chairman of the Board of Kharkiv Club General, Valentyn Holik, a member of the Board of Overseers of Karazin University, the Chairman of the Board of Kharkiv regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, people’s artist of Ukraine, Viktor Kovtun, the Director of Kharkiv Art Museum, Valentyna Myzgina, the Head of the Division of Ukrainian and Russian Art of Kharkiv Art Museum, Olha Denysenko, Karazin University Prezident Vil Bakirov, vice-presisents, deans, faculty and students.
To mark Defender of Ukraine Day, the Regional Student Council and Kharkiv University Consortium have held an All-Ukrainian student action “Khvylia (Wave)”, which took place under the slogan “Ukraine Above All”. The action was conducted with the assistance of the Department of Education and Science of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, and the Council of University Presidents of Kharkiv oblast.
The students carrying national symbols gathered in front of the universities to express their civic stand, and to honor the soldiers defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The purpose of the action was to cultivate spiritual values, patriotism, civic consciousness, and morality among youth and to warn today’s generation which has to understand the value of human life and remember that every action has its consequences.
The event ended with a patriotic flashmob.
Kharkiv has held a presentation of the University Consortium, an association of reputable higher educational institutions of the city for shaping the intellectual and managerial elite of Ukraine. The Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Ihor Rainin, the Head of the Council of University Presidents of Kharkiv oblast, Karazin University President Vil Bakirov, the President of Kharkiv University Consortium, the Director of Kharkiv Regional Institute of the National Academy for Public Administration under the Office of the President of Ukraine, Liudmyla Bielova, and the President of Ivan Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts, Tetiana Vierkina, participated in the event.
