Open Air Orchestra Performance Presentating Kharkiv University Consortium

Kharkiv has held a presentation of the University Consortium, an association of reputable higher educational institutions of the city for shaping the intellectual and managerial elite of Ukraine. The Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Ihor Rainin, the Head of the Council of University Presidents of Kharkiv oblast, Karazin University President Vil Bakirov, the President of Kharkiv University Consortium, the Director of Kharkiv Regional Institute of the National Academy for Public Administration under the Office of the President of Ukraine, Liudmyla Bielova, and the President of Ivan Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts, Tetiana Vierkina, participated  in the event.

Mr. Rainin outlined the goals to be achieved thanks to the reforms in education and the creation of the University Consortium: Kharkiv will be able to become the intellectual capital of Europe, diplomas of Kharkiv higher educational institutions will open the doors of the best international organizations and enterprises, and the faculty and students will become participants of the best international programs.

Mr. Bakirov pointed out that the University Consortium is a prerequisite to successful reformation of higher education, improvement of training quality, effectiveness of research and students’ association with supreme cultural values. “Sounds of explosions and shots are not supposed to be heard on the Ukrainian land. Our country is a place for children’s laugh and wonderful music in the name of welfare, peace, culture and love”, concluded the University President.

“I would like to congratulate you on the birth of a new tradition, one of students’ musical gatherings. Here, in the historic heart of the city, where the first Kharkiv students walked more than two hundred years ago, we will be listening to wonderful music performed by contemporary students,” said Ms. Bielova.

Ms. Vierkina stressed the importance of youth education by means of classical music, thanked the holiday organizers and wished those present to experience unforgettable emotions.

The Symphony Orchestra of Ivan Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts (conductor: Director of Kharkiv Philharmonic, Merited Worker of Arts of Ukraine, Yuriy Yanko) gave the audience an enchanting performance of Johann Sebastian Bach, Giuseppe Verdi, Ludwig van Beethoven, Gaetano Donizetti, and acquainted them with the works by a talented contemporary composer, Ehsan Tavakkol. The laureates of international contests Volodymyr Kozlov, Mark Serdiuk and Anastasiia Doroshenko performed opera arias.
